Ganges of the North

Abstract

This year the Hindu celebration of Durga puja culminated in a traditional send off of the Goddess Durga, but rather than down the Ganges she has been set floating down the River Mersey instead. Louise Tickle joins the celebrations in Fletcher Moss Park in Manchester on a cold October day to find out about the significance of the celebration to the Manchester Hindu community.
