People often cry out for more green spaces in out towns and cities, but with associated maintenance costs and health and safety issues, new green spaces are not often seen as a viable option. Phil Griffin poses the idea that new public spaces need not be green as long as the space, whatever it may be, is properly conceived, used and well maintained.
