The project involved three partner countries, Germany, Holland and the UK and was concerned with the regeneration of four waterways suffering from post-industrial decline. Members of the partner countries discuss what they have achieved so far and how the lessons learned have not only enhanced each other’s projects but will also help inform future projects.

For many years New Brighton was a must-see destination for tourists but is currently suffering from the tail end of a 30 year decline. Mark Hillsdon looks at the range of benefits open to farmers who enter into agri-environmental schemes and looks at the case study of Whitendale Farm in Lancashire that has become involved in United Utilities Sustainable Catchment Management Plan (SCaMP) aiming to help restore the natural landscape and utilise it as an alternative source of income.
